Domaine de Baronarques

About the Winery

Nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees near Limoux, Domaine de Baronarques is a historic Languedoc estate combining southern richness with Bordeaux-inspired precision. Owned by the Rothschild family (Mouton Rothschild) since 1998, the domaine has undergone a complete transformation, earning recognition as one of the region’s benchmark producers.

The estate’s 40 hectares of organically farmed vineyards sit on clay-limestone soils, perfectly suited to both Mediterranean and Atlantic varietals — Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet, Malbec, and Chardonnay. This unique terroir produces wines that are bold yet balanced, capturing both the generosity of the South and the structure of classic French reds.

Through meticulous vineyard work, limited yields, and careful oak aging, Domaine de Baronarques crafts wines like Cap Rouge that reflect a deep sense of place — expressive, elegant, and unmistakably refined.
