A powerful and elegant expression of Brunello di Montalcino from the historic Pianrosso vineyard, produced only in the finest vintages. The 2020 Brunello embodies the depth, complexity, and harmony that have made Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona one of Montalcino’s most respected estates.

TECHNICAL FEATURES

Vineyard: Pianrosso single vineyard – 11.69 hectares (28.9 acres)
Soil type: Medium-grain soil with good levels of marl dating from the Eocene period
Altitude: 240–360 metres above sea level
Vinification: Fermentation and refinement in stainless-steel and glass-lined concrete vats; temperature controlled through cooling plates and jackets
Aging: Long aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by bottle refinement
Colour: Ruby red tending toward garnet
Alcohol: 14% (approx.)

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Intense, complex, and spicy with notes of ripe red berries enriched by nuances of tobacco and herbs
Palate: Warm, soft, and harmonious, displaying excellent balance between pronounced tannins, acidity, and savouriness
Style: Full-bodied and refined, with great aging potential — the epitome of classic Brunello elegance

PAIRINGS

Ideal with roasted or stewed game, such as hare, pheasant, or wild boar. Also excellent with aged cheeses.
Serving suggestion: Open one hour before serving and pour at 18–20 °C in large crystal glasses.
Cellaring: Store bottles horizontally, away from light and temperature fluctuations.
