An elegant single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Martinborough, one of New Zealand’s benchmark regions for the variety. Dry-farmed vines, low yields and the region’s cool, dry climate bring concentration, freshness and complexity.

Vineyard: Single dry-farmed vineyard with a north-east exposure
Soils: Clay over ancient, free-draining alluvial gravels
Climate: Cool and dry, protected by the Rimutaka and Aorangi ranges
Alcohol: 13.5%
Residual sugar: <1 g/L

VINIFICATION

Harvest: Hand harvested
Fermentation: Small-lot fermentation using indigenous and selected yeasts
Maturation: French oak barrels, 15% new, followed by 18 months of bottle aging
Fining: Unfined

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Deep ruby
Nose: Black cherry, roasted strawberry, dried rose petals and clove, with subtle savoury notes
Palate: Ripe dark fruit, freshness, fine tannins and spice
Finish: Long and elegant

PAIRINGS

Ideal with duck breast, lamb, venison, mushroom risotto, roast pork, grilled salmon, charcuterie and aged cheeses.
Serving temperature: 15–17 °C
Cellaring: 8–10 years
