Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona

About the Winery

Located on the southeastern slopes of Montalcino, Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona is one of the most renowned and historic producers in the Brunello di Montalcino appellation.

The estate’s origins date back to the 17th century, when it belonged to the Montalcino diocese, before passing to Countess Eva Bernini Cerratani in the 18th century. In the late 1800s, it was acquired by Francesco Ciacci, and later took on its current name following the marriage of Elda Ciacci to Count Alberto Piccolomini d’Aragona in the mid-1900s.

In 1985, with no direct heirs remaining, the estate was entrusted to Giuseppe Bianchini, a long-time employee considered part of the family. Honoring the traditions and reputation of the estate, Giuseppe elevated Ciacci Piccolomini to international acclaim through his dedication to quality and respect for heritage.

Since 2004, Giuseppe’s children, Paolo and Lucia Bianchini, have carried forward his vision — blending tradition with innovation to craft Brunellos of elegance, authenticity, and timeless character.
